| Choosing a Nursing Home
The most important thing to say about choosing a nursing home is that you need to visit the home to see and experience what really goes on. You will probably know in the first 5 minutes if it is for you! It is worth visiting as many homes as possible so you can make comparisons and find the home that is right for you.
To start to find a home you need to know where they are and we would suggest the following:
- Speak to friends and relatives for their recommendations
- Contact Social Services for a list of registered homes in the area
- Ask your GP
- Search the internet
- Contact the Commission for Social Care Inspection either by phone or via the internet for detailed information and inspection reports on registered homes
